Girls Brigade

§ Give thanks for a very successful GB Display.

§ Give thanks for the successful year and for all the girls who came

along to GB.

§ Give thanks that camp went well.

§ Pray for those doing exams that they will stay calm and focused.

§ Pray for safety for the girls over the summer, that they would enjoy time with their families and friends.

§ Pray that God would be preparing them for what we will be teaching them about Him next year.

Choir

§ Give thanks for the ministry that the choir brings to the congregation.

§ Pray for the Elders Ordination Service on June 20^th.

Youth Fellowship

§ Praise God for the young people of the church as they reach out

and influence those around them with the gospel.

§ Pray for YF as they will be attending Youth Night on the 12th June, and going away for their weekend 18th-20th June. Pray for the speaker, Dave Moore, as he prepares the talks, pray for safety throughout the weekend, and
particularly when they go surfing on Saturday afternoon.

§ Pray for Miriam as she will be leaving to go back to Germany at the end of June.

§ Pray for all those young people sitting exams this month that they can recall to their memory all that they have learnt.

Pakistan

§ Urdu Christian literature - Readings from Christian literature are regularly made over a loudspeaker at Calvin’s Academy One. Not only do students benefit, but also many others in the highly populated neighbourhood. One of the books frequently read explains the Bible’s teaching on the Trinity. Most Muslims misunderstand what Christians believe in that regard and assume that we teach a doctrine of three gods. The book seems to have become quite effective in dealing with this very important and difficult subject. It is now in great demand. Five thousand copies have been printed and distributed. More are needed.

§ Medical Service Outreach - Praise the Lord for providing medical clinics as a means of bearing witness to God’s mercy in Christ. Most Pakistanis are too poor to afford proper medical care. The Medical Clinic in Muridke which MERF helped to build is now in need of a local Christian doctor to minister to many more people. Please pray for this important and urgent staffing need.

General Assembly meets Monday 14th June -Thursday 17th June

§ Pray for the out going moderator as he moves back into parish ministry and give thanks for his work in the past year - Rev. Dr. Stafford Carson

§ Pray for the in coming moderator Rev. Dr. Norman Hamilton:

1. That he will know God’s grace in his modetorial year

2. For wisdom as he chairs the General Assembly

3. For strength as he travels the length and breadth of the island visiting many     congregations.

4. For discernment as he will have to speak to the media and represent Presbyterians at many different levels in society.

Greystone Road

§ We give thanks for our four new prospective elders being installed on the 20th June at 7:00pm. Pray for them:

That they would know an increasing sense of God’s called on their life. That they

would walk closely with Jesus every day and that the Holy Spirit would enable them to carry out their duties for the time to come.

Individuals

§ Eunice is undergoing difficulties with remaining in Northern Ireland, please pray that this situation can be resolved for her.

§ Anne Armstrong (wife of Jim Armstrong) has been diagnosed with Motor Neuron Disease, please pray for her health and strength to improve.

§ Edith Holmes asks you to pray for her brother John for his cancer treatment

§ Katie McKnight is still undergoing chemotherapy, please keep praying for her.

§         Pray that the girls would learn more about God each week and are able to use this in their day to day lives.

Christian Endeavour

§         Pray for wisdom and enthusiasm for the leaders.

§         Praise God for His help during the preparation for the C.E. Service.

Choir

§         Pray for the choir as they are going to Grace Baptist on 27th March that they will be a blessing in song to the congregation.

§         Please pray for the choir as they prepare for Easter and the worship they will bring.

Presbyterian Women

§         Give thanks for the women who have joined our PW this year.

§         Pray that God will work in the hearts of the women of our church.

Prime Time

§         Give thanks for the great numbers of young people coming every week.

§         Give thanks that the resources are working out well.

§         Give thanks for an excellent team approach.

§         Pray for guidance in managing a large group with different needs.

§         Pray for continued maturity in the older teens as they plan and help.

§         Pray for the youth led service on 25th April.

Youth Fellowship

§         Give thanks that Christianity Explored Youth has gone well.

§         Pray for the rest of the session as we try and build upon what has been learned. 

§         Pray for the planning of the YF Weekend in June - that suitable speakers would be sourced and that venues / activities would be available. 

§         Above all praise God for the young people of our church and pray for them as they seek to serve Him, sometimes in difficult circumstances, at home, among their friends, and in school.

Youth Club

§         Pray for continuing support from all the leaders who give up their time and they will continue to get to know the young people better.

Buzzy Bees

§         Praise God for the increased numbers on a Tuesday morning.

§         Pray that everyone will still enjoy coming and that the believers will

be a good witness to the “not-yet” believers.

Individuals

§         Edith Holmes asks you to pray for her brother John for his cancer treatment.

§         Valerie Mulholland is having 5 weeks of radiotherapy starting on Thursday 4th February and finishing on Thursday 11th March. 

§         Anne Armstrong (wife of Jim Armstrong) has been diagnosed with Motor Neuron Disease, please pray for her health and strength to improve.

§         Katie McKnight is still undergoing chemotherapy, please keep praying for her.

§         John McClean asks you to pray for his parents who are returning home from Kenya on 8^th & 9^th March.  For his neighbour Nellie who has suffered a suspected stroke that she can make a good recovery. For John (himself) as he travels to Cyprus for a MERF meeting (24^th-27^th March) that decisions made will be in line with what God wants.

Release International
Pray for the work of Release International and the persecuted churches in the world.

Pray that the Lord will fill His people with His wisdom in this situation and with Romans 12 kind of love for those who hate which bravely, creatively and generously overcomes evil with good.
 

The doctors have given her approximately a year to live. This has obviously
been extremely difficult to accept and take in for all of us. Eileen is a
woman who has been used to physical pain for many years but the emotional
turmoil that she is going through at the moment is very difficult for her.
For a strong independent women to have to start to rely and depend on both
Douglas and myself to help with general everyday tasks is very difficult for
her and it is very hard to watch both her and Douglas go through this.
Yesterday the OT confirmed that she would be getting a stair lift put into
her house over the next few weeks so we are hopeful that this will make a
huge difference to her being able to move about her own house.

I would just like to thank you all for you kind prayers and ask that you
continue to pray not only for Eileen and Douglas but also myself that I will
be able to stay strong and support them both for the times ahead and keep
things at work going also.

I would also like to add a note that my own mother has been unwell recently
with her heart condition and would ask you to remember her in your prayers
that the situation will ease.

I can’t thank you enough for your prayers and kind thoughts, it means a
great deal of comfort to all of us.

Praise God for who He is, that He hears and answers our prayers.
 
Continue to pray for those who have been bereaved recently, that God’s comfort and consolation will sustain them in their grief and loss.
 
Remember those who quietly cope with continuing illnesses or afflictions, like arthritis and ongoing treatments.
 
Continue to pray that our Property will not be damaged and that no-one will climb onto the roofs, so that there will be no njuries.
 
Pray that new Christians will find encouragement  and support and that new members will find fellowship.
 
Pray for those close to the Kingdom that they will be enabled to take the big step of faith and accept Jesus as their Saviour.
 
Remember those serving God outside of the Congregation this summer, Edith and Melanie in Ukraine, Sheryl and Corinne in Donegal, Kathy in Portstewart and others that you know of.
 
CEF in Romania - pray for about 2000 poor children going to camps, for the organisers especially Claire Bain, leaders at the camps and that the soapbags will help express the love of God to the children.
 
CEF locally - pray for Neil Harkness, the Christian Youth in Action week 4 to 10 July and for new openings in the Antrim area.
 
Dublin Christian Mission -  give thanks for the faithful work carried out during the year, the successful trip by Christian teenagers with Andrew Dawson in Belarus and pray for 9 weeks of camp in Wicklow during the summer.
 
Continue to pray for Beni and Maria, that their difficulties will be resolved and that God will clearly show them where He wishes them to go next.    And for Samuel and other friends in Sibiu that the divisions in their Church will be healed.
 
Pray for Eunice that the official paperwork, allowing her to stay in the UK, will soon be completed.

the prayer list. She has been in ill health for some time but has been in
out of hospital this last few weeks with a collapsed lung. They had been
doing various tests and discovered that it was actually a tumour on her lung
that caused the collapse. This in turn prompted further investigations which
unfortunately just at the weekend have shown that she has got lung cancer
which has spread to her throat and is in the bones at her hip. They have
said the cancer is at an advanced stage. They are going to give her
radiotherapy on Tuesday and are then going to give her a week or two to
gather her strength before they proceed with further treatment.

I would mean a great deal to Eileen, my fiance Douglas and myself and would
give some comfort to know that people are praying for her and Douglas at
this time. Douglas has little other family so it is particularly difficult
for him. I would ask that you pray for not only the health issues but also
for the strength for all of us to cope and for me to support them.

Douglas is also self employed (I also work for him) and it is going to be
particularly difficult to balance work around supporting his mother so I
would also ask for a word of prayer on the issue of us being able to manage
this also.
