A few months ago I had requested that Greystone would pray for my intended
mother in law who is suffering with cancer, Eileen Stoddard. I would just
like to thank you for your prayers and ask if you would continue to pray for
both her and for my fiance Douglas. She has been back to the hospital and
unfortunately it seems that the radiotherapy has not been successful.
The doctors have given her approximately a year to live. This has obviously
been extremely difficult to accept and take in for all of us. Eileen is a
woman who has been used to physical pain for many years but the emotional
turmoil that she is going through at the moment is very difficult for her.
For a strong independent women to have to start to rely and depend on both
Douglas and myself to help with general everyday tasks is very difficult for
her and it is very hard to watch both her and Douglas go through this.
Yesterday the OT confirmed that she would be getting a stair lift put into
her house over the next few weeks so we are hopeful that this will make a
huge difference to her being able to move about her own house.
I would just like to thank you all for you kind prayers and ask that you
continue to pray not only for Eileen and Douglas but also myself that I will
be able to stay strong and support them both for the times ahead and keep
things at work going also.
I would also like to add a note that my own mother has been unwell recently
with her heart condition and would ask you to remember her in your prayers
that the situation will ease.
I can’t thank you enough for your prayers and kind thoughts, it means a
great deal of comfort to all of us.
